Summer BoHo Guide

BoHo is a unique style of Bohemian meets Hippie styles! Notorious for its long, flowing skirts voluminous peasant tops, knits & fringe, this trend is unmistakable when you see it! No matter how chic, classic or trendy you are, we all have an inner flower child that can embrace some part of this great style!

Check out our style inspirations below for a perfect  BoHo piece to perfectly compliment your body and your taste!  Click here to visit our YouniqueType page, review our body types & take our body type quiz then go get your BoHo Chic on!

Mozza

Your key to making this trend work for you is to surrender that defined, curvy figure you normally work to achieve. BoHo is about flow so pick a flowing knitted dress, the knit will cling to show off your curves without looking too structured. If you feel like you need the structure a wider belt at the waist will do the trick! Try a wide sleeved top with a funky BoHo print. The sleeves are wide but the torso is cut so you will show the small waist while still rocking this relaxed trend.

Chala

The key to making this trend work for you is all about balance. Your body is already balanced & this trend's pieces tend to be full. If you add volume to one half be sure to counter balance the other half! Pair a flowy dress with a thick leather belt for perfect! The pleats created on the top & bottom will add balanced fullness while the belt defines a smaller waist without being overly structured.  A delicate knitted top paired with a slightly skirt is a great choice for you as well! The slight volume from the bulk of the knit is offset by the skirt.

Tawnie

The key to making this trend work for you is minimize the volume in the pieces your choose. With all of the knit, poof & frills of the trend your small body can become overwhelmed. Try on a peasant style dress with a draw string or elastic waist or one that is easily belted. This will help pull the fabric to your body & not overwhelm you. A tank that has some structure in the shoulders then flows out will  make your bust look bigger and create the illusion of slight curves when paired with a boyfriend cut jean.

Jozie

The key to making the trend work for you is adding volume to your top half while controlling the volume on the bottom. BoHo is great for adding neckline details. This extra stitching or detailing will draw the eye up toward the bust and make it look fuller. Keep any dresses loosely belted at minimum to keep the fabric close so it doesn't create more lower volume. A voluminous tunic with a pair of well fitting short or jeans is a simple yet flattering pair up!

Suza

The key to making this trend work for you is all about the flow! Peasant tops with their pleating create a beautiful flow over the torso! Sleeves that flow out slightly show your slender upper arms but don't bring more volume down toward the waist. A flowing dress that ties or belts high, right under the bust is oh so BoHo but keeps the flow loose in the right spots; showing off the bust flowing over the torso and hitting right at or slightly above the knee to create an amazing look on your body!

Lola

The key to making this trend work for you is taking advantage of the volume that comes with a BoHo look! BoHo dresses, tops & skirts all tend to have more volume at the bottom which works great on your slender lower half. A peasant dress that has built in waist definition will create a great volume right over the hips to give you a sexy shape! Look for peasant tops with V or U shaped necklines that hit along the hip bones. This neckline will pull the eye down & in while the volume from the pleats gives the most volume where the fall at the hips!

Summer just isn't summer without some fun in the water and sporting the right bathing suit can make all the the difference in the world to how comfortable you feel in your own skin. There are styles & cuts for every body & every taste so no matter what your shape find one that flatters you!
Make sure you subscribe to our blog to be notified when our new posts go up!

MOZZA

Your key as always is to show off your tiny waist so you see your curves.
  • Monokinis that provide some coverage in the front but have deep cutouts will show where your waist really is and showcase all your sexy curves!
  • Look for a bottom that hits right at or slightly above your hip bones. This will highlight the smaller part of the hips and give you a smooth transition up to the waist
  • Slight bottom ruching is also a great way to help disguise not so flat lower abs make the most of of your bottom curves!
  • A  top that has fringing or that extends down slightly with a V shape will help make your waist even smaller by creating the V shape on the torso for you!

CHALA
Your key is to give your straighter figure the appearance of a smaller waist by accentuating your upper & lower half.
  • A monokini with deep cutouts will give the illusion of a smaller waist by showing bits of skin on the side.
  • Look for bottoms that fall below the hit bone. This is the widest part of your hip & accentuating at this point will instantly give your lower curves a boost!
  • A top with a key hole or details like ruffles or sequins will draw the eye's attention to your top and make your bust look bigger and instantly offset the waist making it appear smaller

TAWNIE

Your key is to give your small figure a bit of a fuller appearance and accentuate accentuating your upper & lower half to create curves.
  • A zig-zag monokini will do for your figure what an asymmetrical top! Gives your body curves & volume!
  • A tiny bikini with a bottom that hits below the hip bones (the widest part) will create lower curves. Look for a triangle or halter top that has ruffles, fringe or sequins to make your bust look bigger.
  • A high waisted bikini is great on your body and a good way to create dramatic curves. The higher waist will boldly create a line at the smallest part of your torso giving you a sexy pin up look! Add some rushing to the bottom to disguise a tummy that isn't perfectly flat.

JOZIE

Your key is to minimize your lower half as needed, keep your waist defined & create curves on your top half for a balanced look.
  • A full piece is always great for coverage. Make sure you look for one with lots of ruching or side draw strings that will draw in the torso area & show off your small waist!
  • Look for a top that gives some push up. A bow, ruffles & fringe to really draw the eye upward and make your bust look bigger.
  • Look for a bottom with wider sides that will hit from the hip bone and extend upward. This will help minimize the hips a bit and the wider sides will give a smoother appearance to the hips.

SUZA

Your key is to give some volume to your hips and create the illusion of a waist.
  • A full piece with plenty of side ruching is a great way to camouflage a midsection problem area. The ruching will create the illusion of a flatter & smaller torso area.
  • A monokini with a thick straight connector will help give the effect of a smaller waist line .
  • Look for a bottom that hits right at the hip bone. This will define the leaner part of your hips and give a smooth transition
  • Try a deep V cut. Either a deep V on a one piece banded right under the bust line to create a high faux waistline or a top with a V fringe or underhang will create a V shape going down & give the illusion of a smaller waist.

LOLA

Your key is to give your lower half some curves while minimizing & supporting a fuller top half.
  • A bandeau or under wire top are your best cut choices. If your bust needs a little perk up try straps for some extra support. These cuts will lift you & help keep your bust full but under control.
  • A bottom that hits below the hip bones will define the widest part of your hips and create a fuller, curvier affect on your lower half.
  • A bottom that ties, has rings or a bold print will also work to increase your lower curve appeal.
  • Try a top that has an under hang that extends down slightly in a V for a instant waist cinching appearance but stay clear of fringe over hang or your will look overly top heavy.

Summer Shorts!

Shorts are a must have staple in any Summer wardrobe but shorts don't mean just your classic denim cutoffs. You can dress them up or down, casual daytime or a chic night look. Shorts are such a versatile piece, you can't go wrong!

Mozza

When looking for shorts make sure you pick a fabric that have a bit of stretch or flow easily. This will make for a great fit. Shorts that hit around mid thigh will show off the slimmer part of the lower thigh and help disguise any upper problem areas. The high waist trend looks great on your body, it will show off your tiny waist & showcase your curves! Look for vertical and mid-sized prints. V-neck & sweetheart tops that hit right below the hip bone make for a perfect pair with your shorts!

For more tips & tricks to style & find Shorts perfect for you, check out our Mozza Style Guide!

Chala

Look for shorts with some trendy front pleating to give you some lower curves or a high waist cut to really draw attention and create the illusion of a smaller waist. You can get away with wearing tight, form fitting fabrics, this will also give you instant curves. A button down top that is tied up or tucked in provides a chic look for your shorts. Ruffles, front panel detailing or pleats on your top will give the illusion of a curvier torso and are great choices!

For more tips & tricks to style & find Shorts perfect for you, check out our Chala Style Guide!

Tawnie

Look for a pair of shorts with a hemline that hits at the widest part of your thigh for a sexy look. A thick cuff on a shorter hemline will give you the same look. Go for a pair that has side pockets or a flowy cut to give you some curves on your lower half. You can let loose with prints just remember to keep them to scale & use the fist rule! An asymmetrical or deep V-neck cut halter will look great on you & give you some visual interest on your top for a balanced and sexy look!

For more tips & tricks to style & find Shorts perfect for you, check out our Tawnie Style Guide!

Jozie
When looking for shorts make sure you pick a fabric that have a bit of stretch or flow easily. These will skim easier over problem areas. Shorts that hit around mid to lower thigh will show off the slimmer part making your legs look leaner. Look for a flat panel front to keep your tummy looking flat but your best asset well accentuated! Wider scoop or boat neck cut tops pair perfectly to give your shoulders & bust a larger appearance & balance your body. Or try a Vneck to elongate your torso and draw the eyes to the bust. Keep your tops hitting below the hip bone.

For more tips & tricks to style & find a Sundress perfect for you, check out our Jozie Style Guide!

Suza

Most Suzas have very lean legs so really use this to your advantage. Look for shorts that hit mid thigh or a bit higher with a wide cuff, this will show them off without making them look too thin. Printed or textured shorts will draw attention to your lower half and give you a more proportionate look. A flat front panel will also accentuate you nicely. Pair up with a sleevless, flowing top that skims over the midsection or one that defines a higher waist and flares out, this will help disguise your problem area and show off your fabulous arms!

For more tips & tricks to style & find a Sundress perfect for you, check out our Suza Style Guide!

Lola

Look for shorts with a lot of detail and interest. Stripes, distressing detailed pockets or even pleats are a great way to add some interest to your hips and give you the illusion of lower curves. Leg detailing such as a ruffle edged hem or a rolled cuff will also draw the eye down. Flowing, blousy tops that you can tie around the hip work great and flatter your body. Don't tuck in, this only makes your waist look straight. Try a deep scoop or V-neck tee or wide strapped tank that falls at the hip line for a cute but casual look.
