Summer Sundresses

Summer is finally here! What better way to kick off the season than with a sundress! In my book, the sundress is the signature summer garment that looks good on every body all season long! Dress it up or down but grab yours and help us welcome our favorite season!

Check out our style inspirations below for a perfect  Sundress to perfectly compliment your body type! Click here to visit our YouniqueType page, review our body types & take our body type quiz! Fashion is all about having fun, feeling confident and beautiful!!

Mozza

Look for a sundress that had some structure in the torso or a defined waistline to show off your curves; Mozzas can often look a size bigger in flowy attire because their small waists are hidden. This is the key for you in styling this piece. Try a cut that skims your curves, an A-line with V-neck halter like in our inspiration picture. A material like jersey or a light weight knit will provides some cling in all the right places to flatter your body!
For more tips & tricks to style & find a Sundress perfect for you, check out our Mozza Style Guide!

Chala

Look for a sundress that sports an empire or gathered waist, this will really bring focus to the waist and create more fullness in both the bust and hips for a curvier appearance. A classic A-line cut is always a great choice for Chalas, as picture in our inspiration piece above. A crocheted look or a challis cotton fabric look great on your body but you can pull off any fabric you choose!

Tawnie
Look for a sundress that sports an empire or gathered waist. This will give you some fullness and create the illusion of top & bottom curves. Keep with thin straps or a strapless to show off your shoulders, like in our inspiration piece above; thick straps will make you seem smaller. A stiffer fabric such a a calico cotton blend will also help give you some fullness but you can wear any fabric. And remember to keep your hemline up above your knee!

Jozie

Look for a sundress that has a higher, defined waistline. You want to keep any torso definition well above your belly button to draw the eye up and show off your little waist. A dress with a deep V-neck top or thin spaghetti straps will draw attention to the bust & shoulders giving you a more balanced appearance. Look for a flowy, full A-line skirt to skim over potential trouble spots. A light knit or crepe like material will create an optimal look for any Jozie!

Suza

Look for a sundress that has a high or empire waist. This style will skim over potential problem areas in the torso and draw attention to the smallest part right under the bust line for a curvy appearance.  Go for thin straps or strapless dresses, this will really show off your shoulders & thin arms! A deep V-neck cut on the top will give you the look of a fuller chest. A soft challis, cotton material will best compliment your body!

Lola

Look for a sundress that has thicker straps or demi-sleeves. This will help downplay the width of your shoulders and give your look a more feminine feel. An empire waist higher waist will accentuate your great bust line and add some volume to the hips. A cut that draws the eye to the waistline will give you the look of curves like our inspiration picture above. A medium weight knit or calico cotton will give you the right amount of volume!

Elizabeth and James never let me down when it comes to beautiful, structured shoes but as I'm still learning to love this chunky trend, it would be a little hard to let go of $450 for these! Check out my finds for all the chunk & funk but at a much lower price!
