Chala Style Guide

Our fashion expert’s tips to flatter your Younique Chala Body!
Remember these are only guidelines- fashion is all about fun and feeling your best! So if you feel good in it, don’t be afraid to rock it!

Your body challenge: Defining your straight waist Parts you want to accentuate: Lean upper body, slender hips and great legs

Tops

  • If you have a small chest and long neck, choose higher necklines. Crew, slash, turtle, polo, funnel, shirt, mandarin, halter and Armani necklines are perfect for you.
  • Choose tops with bust ruffles, ruching, breast pocket detail, front panel detail and pleating.
  • Wrap tops are also good and button down shirts are your friend.
  • Halter necks are a great option as an alternative to cleavage by showing off your back, arms and shoulders.
  • Fuller bust lines with shorter necks look best in V-necks, boat necks, sweetheart necks, scoop necks and wrap tops.
  • Chalas look great in button down shirts so make sure you have plenty!
  • If you like to create the illusion of bigger breasts, choose tops with pockets, rushes, pleating and other front details.
Dresses
  • You look great in straight sheath dresses and shirt dresses.
  • Bias cuts and generous A-lines that are just on or above the knee will flatter your body
  • Wrap dresses are fabulous for Chalas with a fuller bust.
  • Empire style dresses are great dresses for your body style, if you can find one with top  pleats and ruffles it will give the appearance of a fuller chest and add upper curves.
  • Maxi Dress Especially one with a higher neck, because that gives the appearance of a fuller chest. This dress has the higher neck and pleats at the chest area, plus is has a gathered waist, which gives a touch of femininity and an hour-glass figure.
  • Flutter sleeve dresses will give your body a feminine & flowy look without demanding you define your waist.
Bottoms
  • The best way to create curves on a straight bottom is by wearing something tight, but not constricting. Your body will automatically create curves for you.
  • A Chala's body was made for jeans and you’re able to wear most styles, shapes or lengths with any amount of detail. Take advantage of this body perk and look for  fashion forward style & make it part of your signature!
  • You look fab in bootcut slacks and cigarette pants.
  • Chalas can pull off combat pants with cargo pockets for casual attire, the side pockets will help add lower volume to create a leaner torso & illusion of a smaller waist.
  • You can wear high-waisted harem pants, slouchy wide-hipped looks that taper at the leg. Very few body styles can get away with add volume onto the hips but it is definitely a DO for you!
  • A knee-length pencil skirt that tapers in at the side seams creates attractive curves.
  • Tuck your blouse or shirt into your pants or skirt and have fun with belts as this will give you more shape.
  • A-line skirts can look nice if they are voluminous in the right way. Choose stitched down, boxpleated styles or silhouettes with gathers at the basque.
  • Trumpet skirts will also work if they are full.
Jackets & Blazers
  • You can wear most lengths and styles of structured jackets if they are adequately nipped in at the waist for shape.
  • Belted jackets, trenches and coats are especially good as they offer more waist definition
  • Boxy styles like boyfriend jackets with sleek bottoms
  • Blazers with a cinched waist, cut on the bias that flare out from waist to creates instant curves
Shoes
  • Chalas can wear almost any shoe style but your best look is still your go to classic heels.
  • To fully accentuate your figure and help create a the illusion of a curvier figure try a pair of Pencil-thin heels.
  • Ballet flats are a great choice with causual looks
  • Peep-toe pumps will add height & elongate your body.
  • Strappy sandals look fabulous on you!
Accessories
  • Bags that intercept the body in the waist area will draw the eye and create the curves needed for balance. Consider a slouchy or rounded bag as this can help offset the straight lines of Chala bodies.
  • To add a flattering curve to your straight waist try a belt at your natural waist line.
  • Heavier belts with eye catching interest will also help emphasize your waist, especially if you’re long-waisted and small in the chest.
  • Accessories are your new best friend, the bigger and bolder the better.
  • A long over sized necklace will immediately draw attention into the middle of your body and away from those straight up-and-down lines.
  • Scarves that fall in a long line down the body will also have the same effect ass a long necklace
  • Big bracelets and cuffs will look great on your long arms.
