Remember these are only guidelines- fashion is all about fun and feeling your best! So if you feel good in it, don’t be afraid to rock it!

Your body challenge: Minimizing hips while balancing out bust
Parts you want to accentuate: Small waist and shapely bum

Tops

  • Highlight your upper half by wearing tops with bold colors, prints, glitter and other noticeable details.
  • Look for tops with wide cuffs, bell sleeves, ruffles, zippers, embellishment, rushing, vertical seaming detail, large collar/lapels, wraps and princess lines are good choices. These design features naturally draw the eye upwards.
  • Go for longer tops that fall below your hips this lengthens & smooths out the hip & thigh area .
  • Look for wide necklines such as boat neck or scoop neck style. These can widen the shoulders and make you look more proportionate
  • Try out tunic tops and sheath dresses.
  • Create V-neck shapes with your layers. V-shapes elongate the neck and draw attention to your slim midsection .
Dresses
  • Strapless dresses will look gorgeous on a Jozie as most cling to & amplify the bust.
  • Try a halter neck dresses that is fitted up top and that will show off your waist.
  • Dresses with spaghetti straps will give your shoulders a broader appearance and help balance you out.
  • Dresses with a full or A-line skirts will skim your curves beautifully with out adding unwanted bulk or attention to your curvy lower half.
  • Try dresses that have embellishments on the top. Ruffles, patterns or noticeable texture are all good choices
Bottoms
  • Flat-front pants and A-line skirts will work well on a Jozie.
  • Create an “A-line” silhouette with your clothing (fitted on top and roomier at the bottom). The more junk in your trunk, the more A-line you should go.
  • Skinnies or straight legs look great on Jozies when paired with A-line tunics and heels.
  • Belted tunics look incredible on your body so be sure to give that look a go.
  • Tuck skinnies into chunky knee-high boots. You can pull off a shorter top with this look as the boots create balance.
  • Knee length A-line skirts with vertical panel seaming are a great way to pull the eye down & minimize the hips.
  • Pencil skirts with side seams straight from the hip down to the hem around the knee.
  • A little bit of stretch in fabrics on the bottom give ease through the hip and thigh.
  • Go for boot cut or flared pants, they should skim along the contour of your thighs Size up and have the waistband adjusted if you need to.
  • Keep shorts straight from the thigh down and right above or knee-length; Clamdiggers (knee length Summer skinnies) look great when paired with longer tops on a Jozie
  • Look for a waistline on your skirt or trousers that hits slightly below the natural waistline. Without an extra layer right on the smallest part of the waist it will actually make your waist look smaller and your torso a little longer.
Jackets & Blazers
  • Trapeze jackets that are cropped or fitted snugly at the shoulders paired with a longer and slim layer underneath
  • Boyfriend jackets that are more tailored, cinch in at the waist. Wear it open or belted at the waist, scrunch up the sleeves for more eye catching volume on the top
  • Try to find blazers or jackets with puffed sleeves/light shoulder pads to balance out your shoulders in proportion to your hips.
  • Look for lengths that hits at or just above your hipbones, or just above fingertip length.
Shoes
  • Wear heels! Simple rule: the curvier your bottom, the longer and wider you’ll need to wear your pants and the higher you’ll need to wear your heel to balance out your silhouette.
  • You CAN wear flats. Just have to be careful with the pairing of flats with pants and jeans, on your body flats are most flattering with dresses and skirts.
  • Look for pointy-toed or almond toed shoes with bottoms that are wider at the hem because it elongates the leg line.
  • Round toed shoes cab be just as fab as long as you hem almost skims the ground.
  • Try heeled knee high boots that are slim at the ankle or booties that fall below the ankle with skirts or dresses in cooler weather.
  • Go for heavier styled heels which are not stilettos, this will balance out your calves.
  • Wedges in warmer month. Wedges do wonders for calves.
Accessories
  • Wear Scarves! Scarves in vertical ways creates a flattering long lean line down the front of the body
  • Trying leaving your neck bare in tops that scoop a little lower. With nothing competing for attention you can draw focus directly to the bust.
  • Necklaces that are a little chunkier and either hit just below the neck or lower right around the bust will help balance you out.
  • Consider bags that finish just under the arm or at the bust level, this gives more volume & balance to your top half. Short-handled baguette bag type, an underarm clutch, short strapped rectangular shaped bags or a cigar box purses are all great choices for any Jozie.
  • Accentuate that little waist, wear belts at the waist, not around the hips. Try belts that match your pants or skirt.
  • Find a statement belt that has rhinestones, studs or bright colors. Wear it around your natural waist or a tad bit higher to really give your body a super chic & curvy look!
  • Larger or bold earrings will help create an illusion of more volume on your top half.
